Tesla Model 3 Saloon Award

In 2020, the Tesla Model 3 received New Car Awards from AutoTrader, the UK’s largest automotive marketplace.

The New Car Awards was attended by more than 100 cars, which were all thoroughly tested. Each car was rated on 16 different sets of criteria, including space, performance, reliability, durability, features, looks, costs and much more. The Tesla Model 3 was the outstanding winner, taking first place on the podium for power, acceleration, economy, safety, performance, driving comfort, and ease of parking. This vehicle demonstrates a set of impressive capabilities.

AutoTrader’s comments on the Tesla Model 3 was:

"The Tesla Model 3 is one of the most eagerly anticipated cars of recent years, and it certainly lives up to the hype. It's as stupendously quick as Tesla's other cars has similarly outstanding battery range, and is great to drive. It's packed with useful tech, while its cabin is a model of simplicity and very practical. Perhaps best of all, it's affordable enough to open up Tesla ownership to a whole new range of buyers. A game-changer."

What is also impressive for the Model 3 is that it’s shown how quickly electric cars become popular because prizes awarded to the brand that creates electric only cars. Tesla, as both a car manufacturer and technology company has shown great ambition, and the above prize confirmed that it has a broader talent to show other reputable manufacturers how it should be done.

Fleet UK's cost effective personal and business leasing deals for the Tesla Model 3 makes driving a Tesla a realistic possibility for many more people. Whichever version you go for, running costs will be low. Very low!

Benefits of driving a Model 3 includes the very advanced safety kit, which scored a ‘best-in-class’ award, as well as a maximum five-star rating when it was tested by Euro NCAP in 2019.

Aside from the usual airbags and electronic driving aids, the Model 3 has the Autopilot semi-autonomous driving function that Tesla is famous for. This includes the ability to steer, accelerate, and brake the car automatically to help avoid a collision, while there are also collision warning and blind-spot monitoring functions.

Model 3’s interior takes minimalism to a new level. There are no buttons and there aren’t any dials behind the steering wheel - instead, everything is controlled through a 15.0-inch touchscreen system in the centre of the dashboard.

Legroom, in particular, is very impressive, with more than you get in conventionally powered rivals. Four tall adults can stretch out and even a fifth will be reasonably comfortable because the rear middle seat (which no one normally wants to sit in) is unusually soft and the floor is flat.

It might look like a fairly ordinary saloon, but the performance you get with the Model 3 is nothing short of extraordinary. When I test drove the model before Christmas, the response I got in the acceleration when I put my foot down was smooth and instant, which is what I expected of an electric car.
